Crane Accident: New York, N.Y.

June 2011—A load of steel being hoisted to the roof of 4 World Trade Center smashed windows on the 45th and 46th floors when a gust of wind blew it against the building. Broken glass from the windows fell to the street below, but no one was hurt. Police closed off the area around the construction site, including the plaza of the National September 11th Memorial Museum. The building’s contractor stopped lifts until it completed an investigation and examined its lifting protocols. – www.nydailynews.com
