Crane Accident:: Monmouth Beach, N.J.

April 2013—A telescopic-boom rough-terrain crane toppled over and dunked its extended boom into the Shrewsbury River at a marina project. The two-axle, rubber-tired crane was sitting atop a barge with its outriggers extended when it tipped up onto its back end with the upperworks swung 90°. The crane remained on the barge, except for its extended boom, which crashed through a section of dock and went into the river.
