Crane Accident: Lauderhill, Fla.
July 2013—A crane operator was taken to a hospital for treatment of electrical shock and burns after lightning struck the crane he was operating. Fire department rescue workers said the worker was using the telescopic-boom truck crane to install utility poles when lightning struck its boom. The operator, who was inside the cab and had his hand on the controls, received an electrical shock and severe burns. His condition was not made public. – www.miamiherald.com
