Crane Accident: Edmonton, Alberta

An industrial crane driver died after he lost control of his machinery while driving on icy roads. The operator was traveling northbound on a highway when the crane slid from the left lane, across the right lane and went over an embankment. The worker was rushed to a hospital, where he died from undisclosed injuries. A spokesperson for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said the driver was trying to control his vehicle in a proper manner, and road conditions were largely a contributing factor. Canadian OH&S News
