Crane Accident: Chambersburg, Penn.

March 10, 2014—No one was injured but highway traffic was shut down for about eight hours after a tractor-trailer truck that was transporting a rough-terrain crane tipped over. Pennsylvania State Police said the truck’s driver had stopped to check equipment, and as the truck was beginning to move again its wheels hit a soft spot on roadside grass and the truck rolled onto its side. The truck and crane weighed a total of 230,000 lbs. Heavy towing equipment was used to upright the truck and crane.
