Crane Hot Line

Crane Accident: Bristol, Wis.

Two cell phone tower workers were rescued after having been stranded 110 feet up on a tower for hours in the Kenosha County Town of Bristol. The two workers had been using a 135-foot boom lift to update equipment, when the lift sunk slightly into the mud and tilted. That triggered the lift's safety controls to shut down the machine while the workers were high above ground. They called for help around 8:00 p.m. and were rescued around 10:40 p.m. About a dozen fire departments were called to the scene to help with the rescue. Firefighters needed the help of a special crane to reach above 100 feet for the rescue. The two men suffered no injuries, but were taken to nearby ambulances and were checked out as a precaution. – Fox6now.com
