Crane Accident: Beaufort, S.C.

August 2012—Beaufort police closed a swing bridge for about two hours after the boom of a truck crane struck the upper part of the bridge's steel frame as the vehicle drove on the bridge. No injuries or major damage to the bridge or the crane was reported. The bridge reopened after being inspected by the South Carolina Dept. of Transportation, which will continue to monitor the structure. – www.islandpacket.com
