August 18, 2005 — The Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP), Glennwood Springs, Colo., will hold its annual Certified Equipment Manager Institute (CEMI) in Peoria, Ill., on October 23-26. This event provides equipment managers with the opportunity to sharpen their skills and attain the Certified Equipment Manager (CEM) designation.
“This is an effort to truly strengthen the equipment triangle that exists between equipment managers, dealers and OEM service and support staff,” said AEMP President Greg Kittle, CEM of Ryan Central, Inc. “This is the direction our profession is moving, and we must offer opportunities for all of our partners to work and learn together.”
CEMI is now opening its doors to service and support staff from the Association of Equipment Dealers (AED) as well as OEMs seeking a better working partnership with equipment managers. As a partnering association, AED will offer a special session for AED members and encourage them to attend the CEMI.
“The Association of Equipment Dealers is committed to strengthening the Equipment Triangle, that's why AED is taking a more proactive role at CEMI”, said Matt Di Iorio, executive director of AED.
Equipment managers planning to take the CEM exam must meet minimum experience requirements and complete/submit the CEM application by September 12, 2005. Non-exam attendees must be registered for CEMI by September 30, 2005. All dealer and OEM support and service staff attending will receive a certificate of attendance.
