Cat Extends Warranty for Industrial Engines
March 9, 2005 — Caterpillar Inc.,
The warranty period for engines with ACERT Technology is 24 months or 3,000 hours, whichever comes first (with the first 12 months at unlimited hours). A third year of warranty covers five major components: cylinder block casting, cylinder head casting, crankshaft (excluding bearings), camshaft and connecting rods.
“We wouldn't have extended our warranty coverage if we didn't have enormous confidence in ACERT Technology, which now has proven experience both on- and off-highway,” said Chuck Wills, marketing manager of Cat's Industrial Power Systems
There are nine engines in the industrial ACERT Technology lineup, seven of which meet Tier 3/Stage IIIa emissions standards and two that meet Tier 2 requirements. The Cat® ACERT Technology for emissions reduction revolves around precise control of the combustion cycle accomplished via a systems approach to air management, electronics, fuel systems and combustion systems. ACERT Technology blends both new and existing engine technology to meet various global exhaust emissions regulations.
