December 12, 2005 —- Carlisle Motion Control Industries of Bloomington, Ind., a subsidiary of Carlisle Companies, strengthened its position in the off-highway braking market this October by acquiring the assets of ArvinMeritor, Inc., an off-highway business located in York, SC., and Cwmbran, South Wales, U.K. Carlisle Industrial Brake and Friction is a manufacturer of brake systems for heavy-duty mining, construction, industrial, and agricultural equipment.
"Carlisle will provide an even broader line of products and enhanced technical support to our key customer base as a result of this acquisition," said Doug DeVallance, general manager.
Carlisle brake system products include hydraulic disc brakes for service and park brake applications, mechanical park brakes, full circle brakes, motor brakes, hydraulic brake valves, and hydraulic/electric trailer brake actuators. The company produces friction products for such varied applications as on- and off-highway vehicles, industrial equipment, lawn and garden equipment, and consumer appliances.
