SI Equipment Services demonstrates a new Igo self-erecting tower crane to California contractors.

November 17, 2004—SI Equipment Services, a Manitowoc Crane Group dealer, recently showed the first Igo MA13 self-erecting tower crane in the United States to the Northern California Contractors Association. The crane is the first of 14 Manitowoc self-erecting cranes ordered by SI as demand for this product continues to grow.

About 120 people attended the product launch of the 1.8 t (2 USt) capacity in San Jose, Calif. The MA13 has a 22 m (72 ft) radius capability and 16 m (52.5 ft) under hook height.

SI Equipment Services will also be taking delivery of an additional seven Igo MA13s and six MA21s. The Igo MA13s will be delivered from the remainder of this year through January. The MA21s will be delivered following the crane's formal introduction to the U.S. market at ConExpo 2005. Specifications of this machine include a maximum radius of 26 m (85 ft), a maximum load capacity of 1.8 t (2 USt) and a 19.3 m (63 ft) hook height.

“With more reach than comparable products, low maintenance and environmentally friendly features such as electric power and quite operation, these cranes are a great benefit to contractors,” commented Joe Maslizek, a MCG sales manager.
