Bishop Lifting, a subsidiary of Altamont Capital Partners, has finalized the acquisition of Oceanside Equipment, a wholesaler specializing in rigging and mooring products. Established in 1990 by Greg Maloney to serve the aquaculture industry, Oceanside has grown its operations across Canada, serving various sectors including marine, mining, transportation, and manufacturing.
“The acquisition of Oceanside marks our first physical locations in Canada and continues our strategy to expand our core solution offerings and footprint to serve customers locally across North America,” said Harold King, CEO of Bishop Lifting. “Oceanside has strong customer relationships across Canada, and I am excited to welcome the entire team to the Bishop family.”
With headquarters in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and a presence in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, this acquisition marks Bishop’s 14th venture since 2012 and its seventh under Altamont’s ownership.
Oceanside's Canadian presence, along with its robust private label OCEAN offerings, reinforces Bishop's strategy to emerge as a leading provider of lifting solutions across North America. Following the acquisition, Oceanside will maintain its brand identity and core team, with Greg Maloney, Gary Sullivan, and Vincent Penton retaining their roles in commercial and leadership capacities.
“Bishop Lifting is a great home for our employees and a partner to steward the business we have built over thirty-plus years,” said Greg Maloney, founder of Oceanside Equipment. “I look forward to working with Bishop to continue investing in products and distribution to serve our collective customers across North America.”
