AWRF Former Technical Committee Member Passes Away

Nov. 5, 2019 - The AWRF office has announced that Ron Raymond, 73, has passed away. Prior to retiring, Raymond was the AWRF contact for J.C. Renfroe and a dedicated technical committee member for many years.

Raymond lived in Orange Park, Florida, and town officials said Raymond was a “trusted leader and cherished friend to so many,” with the news of his death a “heavy blow.” Flags flew at half-mast at town buildings in honor of him.

His daughter, Ann Waters, called him a devoted husband, father, and granddad on her Facebook page, saying he had a long-lasting enthusiastic passion for his city where he had previously served as mayor and vice mayor.

The visitation was November 4th at Grace Episcopal Church in Orange Park, and funeral arrangements are pending.

The family requests any donations be directed to the Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Garden or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Raymond leaves behind his wife, Karen, daughter, Ann, and their families.
