AmQuip Signs $30 Million Tower Crane Contract with Terex
March 28, 2005 • After announcing it would be investing strongly in its tower crane
business, Bensalem, Pa.-based AmQuip signed a $30 million, two-year contract for Terex-Peiner tower cranes, in addition to the $30 million order it placed with the Manitowoc Crane Group. The Terex-Peiner products include the SK315 with a 35,300-pound capacity and a 237-foot hook height, the SK415 with a 44,050-pound capacity and 214'7'' hook height, and the SK575 with a 70,500-pound capacity and 260'2'' hook height. According to Terex, the full line of Peiner products will help build the backbone of AmQuip's tower crane business.

“We are extremely pleased AmQuip has chosen Terex towers to continue their tower expansion in North America,” said Steve Filipov, president and chief executive officer of Terex Cranes. In order to satisfy demand and guarantee timely deliveries for its tower cranes, Filipov said Terex has increased capacity at its Zweibrucken, Germany, and Wilmington, N.C., facilities.
