Aerial Work Platform Photo Earns National Award

Enlarge Photo
June 13, 2005 The feature photograph award winner in the Construction Writers Association's (CWA) annual photojournalism contest was an image of 19 JLG boom lifts used to assemble the band shell in Chicago's 6,000-square-foot Millennium Park. The image (right) was taken by Jim Jobes, public relations director at Industrial Marketing Services in Des Plaines, Ill., the public relations agency for JLG Industries. After taking the photograph during a tour of the jobsite organized by the CWA, Jobes entered the photo in the association's photojournalism competition.

CWA is a nonprofit organization of journalists, editors, marketing communications professionals, and photographers covering the construction industry. Every year, the association presents photojournalism awards designed to honor photographs that are newsworthy, illustrative of the article it accompanies, informative, and/or aesthetically pleasing.

For more details on the job, which was completed last summer, see the original report.
