Aerial Lift Training To Precede APS Safety Conference

October 7, 2005 — Aerial Work Platform Training, Inc. (AWPT) will conduct aerial lift training on November 28-29 prior to the Aerial Platform Safety Conference & Expo (APS), which opens November 30 at the Marriott Westchase Hotel in Houston. Equipment will include scissor lifts and boom lifts provided by Skyjack, Haulotte U.S., and JLG Industries.

AWPT is offering its one-day PAL (Powered Access Licensed-Registration) Card operator training on both days. The two-day AWPT-approved instructor training includes PAL Card training on the first day and AWPT instructor training on the second day. Those aiming to become an approved instructor should be able to provide proof of experience with platforms, as detailed in AWPT's procedures manual.

Those who successfully complete the training will receive a PAL Card valid for five years from the date of training. The card shows the categories of aerial work platforms that the holder has been trained to operate and has security features including a holographic logo and the operator's photograph and signature to prevent misuse.
