CraneWorks has officially opened the doors to its new state-of-the-art facility in Orlando, Florida, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth. The event, held in November, showcased the company’s commitment to providing comprehensive crane services, equipment rentals and sales, while celebrating with employees, customers and industry partners.
A Facility Built for Growth
Spanning 35,000 square feet, the new facility represents a major upgrade from the company’s previous Orlando location, which wasn’t designed for the robust service work that CraneWorks specializes in. General Manager Greg Shank shared insights about the motivation behind this expansion:
“This has been in the works since before COVID,” Shank explained. “Once we were able to resume operations, our primary focus was on growth. We knew that CraneWorks was set to expand both nationwide and across Florida, but we didn’t have the infrastructure to support that. Now, with this new facility, we’re equipped to meet those demands.”
The facility boasts nine service bays equipped with overhead cranes that assist with boom jobs, rebuilds and other large-scale projects. It features a climate-controlled parts warehouse capable of storing millions of dollars worth of inventory, ensuring faster repair times and more efficient service for customers. The facility also includes a fully enclosed wash bay, a large conference room that will be used for training and office space designed to accommodate staff as well as employees visiting from out of town.
Celebrating a Milestone
The grand opening event gave attendees an inside look at the impressive facility while fostering a sense of community among customers and industry partners.
CraneWorks set up equipment for some fun games and skills tests during the event. One challenge involved a Manitex 40-ton crane where participants would guide a ball from one steel drum to another as quickly as possible without hitting the sides of the drums. Another game involved maneuvering a pallet, highlighting the precision and skill involved in operating heavy equipment.
Guests also enjoyed food trucks, giveaways and the chance to tour the new facility.
“Customers have stopped by and are thrilled that we have this facility now,” said Shank. “With the addition of more technicians and more parts storage, we’re able to complete repairs faster and more efficiently. This not only improves our turnaround times but also allows us to better meet the growing needs of our customers.”
Expanding Beyond Orlando
The Orlando facility is just the beginning of CraneWorks’ plans for expansion in the Southeast.
In addition to its repair and service work, the company also emphasizes its capabilities in selling and renting a wide range of heavy equipment. Shank hinted at the possibility of opening additional locations in South Florida and North Florida/South Georgia, further strengthening the company’s reach and ability to serve customers across the region.
