Indian construction company Tata Projects is spearheading the construction of the new Noida International Airport on the outskirts of New Delhi. For managing the lifting work on this massive infrastructure endeavor, the company acquired two Potain MCT 565 A topless tower cranes and leased an additional three MCT 385 A tower cranes from Rental Partners. Expected to emerge as India's largest and most pivotal airport, the Noida International Airport is poised to revolutionize the country's aviation infrastructure.
The Potain cranes are leading the construction of the main terminal building, slated for completion by the end of 2024. The MCT 565 A M25 models, boasting a maximum capacity of 25 t and a jib length of up to 80 m, have been extended to an impressive 85 m in collaboration with Manitowoc's Lift Solutions, enhancing jobsite coverage. Tata Projects' decision to procure these cranes was significantly influenced by the engineering prowess of Manitowoc’s Lift Solutions team.
“We’re proud to have a longstanding relationship with Potain India. Over the years, we’ve had remarkable performance from our older Potain cranes, some of which have been in operation for more than 25 years without a breakdown. That speaks volumes for the quality and durability of Potain cranes, and the MCT 565 A continues that proud tradition,” said Alok Banik, deputy general manager of plant & machinery at Tata Projects.
The MCT 565 A cranes are capable of lifting loads ranging from 1 to 4 t and feature a freestanding height under hook of 60.9 m. Accompanying them are three MCT 385 A L16 cranes configured with a maximum capacity of 16 t, a 75 m jib length, and a height under hook of 61.4 m. Given the tight construction schedule, reliability and crane speed are paramount.
With a history of being a loyal Potain customer, Tata Projects owns over 50 of its cranes utilized in projects nationwide. Renowned for its expertise in urban and industrial infrastructure projects, Tata Projects has delivered notable landmarks such as the New Parliament Building in Delhi and the Chennai Metro Rail. The company's strategic investment in Potain cranes underscores its dedication to delivering high-quality projects and bolstering India's expanding infrastructure.
