Dec. 13, 2023 – A1A Software has seen more than 100 crane and rigging professionals achieve 3D Lift Plan certifications in 2023.
Individuals who reached Level 1 Certified User, Level 2 Certified Professional, and Level 3 Certified Expert represent a variety of users. “3D Lift Plan is not just for crane rental companies,” said Tawnia Weiss, president of A1A Software.
This year’s list of certified users includes steel erectors and fabricators, foundation and drilling contractors, industrial rigging and millwrighting companies, foundation and drilling contractors, as well as general contractors and governmental agencies.
“I especially want to congratulate the 27 people who became Level 3 certified,” said Weiss. “They are able to use all the features of 3D Lift Plan, create complicated multi-crane lifts, develop a critical lift plan, record a video of the lift, create advanced rigging plans, and more.”
One of the new certified experts is John Oros, operations manager of steel erection for Phoenix Fabricators and Erectors, Avon, Indiana.
The company is one of the country’s premier providers of elevated water storage tanks.
Heavy and tandem picks with limited setup space are typical for water tower installation.
While Phoenix Fabricators and Erectors usually hires crane rental companies to do lifts, 3D Lift Plan gives them more information to guide the crane selection and enables the company to create the rigging plans and other documents customers require. “What used to take a couple of people three days to do, we will now be able to create in a few hours with one person,” said Oros.
Oros had attended a few of the online classes and soon realized that the intensive in-person Boot Camp would give him the tools he needed to master 3D Lift Plan in just a few days. “The experience was excellent and well worth my time,” he said.
Training Options
You don’t have to be a crane lift planner to find aspects of 3D Lift Plan useful.
Rigging Designer, Sketchpad, and Lifting Tools, such as Crane Loads Calculator, are all available as individual apps.
These tools are useful for anyone who does estimates, manages projects, plans rigging, or coordinates with other trades.
Also, 3D Lift Plan certification levels are progressive, so that users can get the most out of 3D Lift Plan’s web tools, reports, and customizations as their knowledge increases.
Users must pass knowledge and practical exams at each level to become certified.
A1A Software provides free weekly online classes to help beginners, intermediate users, and anyone wanting to learn how to use the web tools.Advanced courses can be booked by appointment.
In-person, three-day Boot Camp classes are available four to six times per year.
They take place at the A1A Software headquarters in Fernandina Beach, Florida and cost $850.
